LED Technology
LED lights are being used in just about anything you can imagine right now and there doesn’t seem to be a limit to where things are going to go. Have you ever stopped to consider why these remarkable lights are so popular and beneficial? When you really take a look at the data you may be surprised to learn exactly how much LED lights are having an impact on you and the world you live in.
LED lights can be found in a whole host of basic products, and this is largely due to two factors.
To begin with, LEDs are manufactured in a unique way. Most traditional lighting utilizes either a filament or some kind of gas or illuminating powder. These items can be limiting on how they can be handled because of the risk they may have and how fragile they may be. LED lights however do not have these concerns. These bulbs do not use any chemicals to create light and they do not have a filament, making them almost entirely resistant to vibration, motion, and impact.
This added durability also grants them the ability to have an extraordinary lifespan. When you look at the average market bulbs, either the incandescent or the compact fluorescent, nothing can stand up against LED Christmas lights. Incandescent bulbs have a life time usage of approximately 750 hours. This is the same as running this bulb without turning off the lights for just over a month strait. That sounds like a long time, but when compared to the compact fluorescent bulb, which lasts about 10,000 hours or about a year and a half, it doesn’t stand up. The true champion is LED lights, which can last an astounding 100,000 hours, or the equivalent of running the bulb non stop for 11 and a half years.
Secondly there is the actual energy consumption of these special bulbs. LED lights are often used not just because they can put off a great deal of light, but also because they use only a fraction of the energy that others do. A perfect example of this is the 40 watt bulb. This is an amount that is often used in homes and is a good light to be able to see and read from. In order to get this same amount of light from LED lights you would only need to expend approximately 1.5 watts of power. That is a profound difference that will be noticeable on your electric bill, should you replace your traditional lighting with LED lights.
Over all there is absolutely no limit to what is achievable when it comes to LED lights. It seems like just about every day there are new innovations and products created utilizing this fantastic technology, and ultimately we will all be the benefactors.
